Geography And Climate

Located on the Andaman Sea, Phuket is the biggest island in Thailand. With a total area of approximately 570 square kilometers Phuket’s topology is exceptional with 70 percent of its area being covered by mountains. Though it has a multitude of beautiful beaches the island does not have any major rivers except for a total of 9 brooks and creeks.

Phuket has a tropical climate with a dry (high) season from November to April and rainy (low) season from May to October. The average temperature ranges from around 29 °C (84 °F) to 33 °C (91 °F) and is consistent throughout the year.

Muay Thai

Temples Of Phuket

Phuket offers something for everybody. For the more spiritually inclined visitor the temples of Phuket are one attraction that simply cannot be missed. Among these the temple at Wat Chalong is by far one of the busiest and is definitely the most well known. Beautifully decorated with infinite reflections from thousands of glass pieces, pagodas, historic paintings and of course statues of Buddha himself we know you wont be disappointed. You literally haven’t seen Phuket unless you’ve visited this marvelous temple and its surroundings.

Waterfalls

The waterfalls in Phuket may not be the largest or the most well known but it is precisely for this reason that they make for an ideal place to relax and cool off on a hot day. These waterfalls are best experienced during the monsoon season as they are mostly dry at all other times of year.

Big Buddha

Atop the Nakkerd Hills in Chalong, the Big Buddha is a towering structure that is visible from the vast majority of the south of Phuket. Although still under construction the Big Buddha is 45 meters high and has cost over 30 million baht to complete. The view points in and around the Nakkerd Hills also offer some of the most stunning sights in Phuket and is both equal parts a spiritual as well as tourist destination.
