In Thailand, rice is eaten with every meal however there is a wide variety of dishes to choose from to complement this everyday staple. The tastes of Thai Food range from sweet to very very spicy which can make every meal an adventure of sorts.
Unlike many Western Dishes that are high in carbohydrates, Thai Food is mainly composed of fresh meat, seafood and savory vegetables which are served steamed, fried or grilled depending on what you prefer. For those of you who can’t handle spicy food its best to stay away from any dishes labeled “pet” which in Thai means “spicy”.
Instead, getting some plainer meat and vegetable dishes with rice is your best option. No matter what you choose remember that in Thailand, as with everything else an open mind will take you places you never thought you would go. Relax and enjoy.
